An Emmy-Award winning composer, Kevin McDaniels has crafted music to fit the dramatic needs of many different projects, including feature film, television, video games and the theatre. Part of the Guiding Light composing team that received an Emmy Award victory for best original music in a Daytime Drama in both 2007 and 2008, Kevin’s music has graced several feature films, including the recent film production The Telling, a horror film starring the celebrities from The Girls Next Door, Holly Madison (who also produced the film) and Bridget Marquardt, The Telling was shot at the Playboy Mansion. Forthcoming projects include The Fifth Mafia a crime drama starring Joe Mantegna, James Van Der Beek, Armand Assante and Eric Balfour.
Other feature films Kevin has composed music for include Zerophilia, State’s Evidence and Man Overboard. Zerophilia is a coming of age romance, staring Taylor Handley (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The O.C.) and Gina Bellman (Coupling). State’s Evidence, a dramatic work on the subject of teen suicide, was written and produced by Mark Brown (Barbershop), and its high profile cast includes Alexis Vega (Spy Kids). Man Overboard, directed by Oliver Robbins (Poltergeist) is a light-hearted romp about used boat salesmen.
In addition to features, Kevin’s music has also been heard on numerous television programs, including the CBS Network daytime soap opera Guiding Light, and the NBC Primetime Show Las Vegas. In June 2007, and again in 2008, Kevin McDaniels was part of the Guiding Light composing team that received an Emmy Award for “Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction & Composition for a Drama Series.” Music by Kevin McDaniels has also appeared on MTV, the Discovery and History channels, as well as other TV networks.
Amongst Kevin's other film projects include the score to the full-length feature The Kidnapper’s Tale, directed by Benjamin Louis. He worked as an assistant to composer Gaili Schoen on the Henri Jaglom film, Festival in Cannes. Other film projects by Kevin McDaniels include The Eminem Story, a documentary about the controversial rap star.
Along with film and television, Kevin McDaniels has worked in the fields of both video games and theater. Part of the growing video game industry, Kevin McDaniels composed music for the recently released Lost Treasures of Alexandria by Stratogon Entertainment. In the theatrical world, Kevin McDaniels was the recipient of the LA Drama Critics Award in sound design for A Perfect Ganesh.
